Cleaning discs

If the CD, DVD or other media disc in your system has smudges or scratches, the system can have difficulty reading the contents of the disc. Learn how to safely wipe off and clean the discs.

Tips for cleaning CDs and DVDs:

  1. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove stains or fingerprints from the disc surface
  2. Wipe in a straight motion from the center of the disc to the outer edge
  3. Do not use chemical cleaning products
